Quarterly EligibilityIn addition to OHSAA standards, our Diocesan policy states that in order to be eligible for athletics a student must have maintained a 1.0 grade point average for the previous nine weeks. Additionally, students earning an 85% or lower conduct grade may be removed from participation in extracurricular activities.
Weekly EligibilityIf a student is failing two classes at any time during the nine week grading period, he or she may be declared ineligible to participate in all activities and interscholastic athletics for a one week period. All extra-curricular organizations will also be subject to these minimal eligibility requirements. Individual organizations have the right to establish higher standards of eligibility
according to need or national standards with the approval of the administration.
OHSAA Eligibility StandardsEligibility for each grading period is determined by grades received the preceding grading period. Grades 9 - 12: To be eligible, a student must be currently enrolled in school and have received passing grades in a minimum of five one-credit courses, or the equivalent, in the immediately preceding grading period. Grades 7 - 8: To be eligible, a student must be currently enrolled in school and have received passing grades in the immediately preceding grading period of 75% of subjects in which enrolled. This also applies to beginning ninth grade students. For eligibility purposes, summer school grades and/or tutoring may not be used to substitute for failing grades received during the final grading period of the regular school year or for lack of enough subjects taken the preceding grading period.
