Welcome to John F. Kennedy Catholic School

Dear Kennedy Families,

As the sun set on the 2015-2016 school year I reflected on what made Kennedy moreunique than any other school. It is the “Kennedy Experience” that gives every student the tools to lead, succeed, and serve. The graduating Class of 2016 was offered over $3.4 million in collegiate scholarships, an average of $72,000 per student. 93% of our graduates will attend a four-year college and two students will join the military. Our Boys Golf Team made their 4th  consecutive trip to the State Tournament this past fall while our Football Team were Division VII Regional Finalists. Senior Antonella Lamonica traveled to the State Track Meet in the Spring of 2016 for her her 3rd consecutive appearance. We also take pride in the opportunities students have to serve others both locally and nationally. We send teams of students to volunteer at our local Soup Kitchen to raise funds for childhood cancer awareness by partnering with Alex’s Million Mile Walk and sponsor the Annual Living Water Project to bring attention to the lack of clean drinking water in developing countries.

Last year, we saw growth at the Lower Campus with the addition of a third Kindergarten, 3rd  and 4th  grade class. We moved our 6th grade out of the Lower Campus and created a true middle school experience at the Upper Campus. Our high school saw increases in each grade, and although we are small, we are strong.

This summer, our fifty three year old building received a much needed face-lift. Thanks to a lead gift from the Cafaro Foundation as well as a contribution from The Regina M. Rebhan Family Foundation and numerous friends and alumni, we were able to complete the final phase of the Window Renovation Project. We gratefully accepted a check in the amount of $25,000 from Home Savings and Loan on behalf of their Charitable Foundation. These funds were used to support our Energy Efficiency Project and towards the purchase and installation of LED lighting in the Gillen Gymnasium. Our first floor Computer Lab was painted, carpeted, and received new window treatments and furniture, in part through a grant from the Kerins Family Foundation. The first floor halls and the Gillen Gymnasium were also freshly painted. We also installed Internet access points in each classroom making for more consistent internet availability in the building. Kennedy is committed to continuous improvement to our facility and we look forward to sharing these significant updates with our students and faculty for the 2016-17 school year.

Our Lower Campus was also hustling and bustling this summer. We brought back the Library! Through hard work and generosity, we were able to acquire books, shelving, and educational games to give the children a safe place to learn to love to read. Blessed Sacrament Parish, along with the help of a group of parents, have expanded our playground space and added a fence around that area to provide additional safety for our youngest Eagles. Without your help of time, talent, and funding none of this could have been possible. Your belief in the education of tomorrow leaders is the foundation of what we strive to do every day. These students are the difference makers of tomorrow. They will change our world for the better like all of you have. Because of you we will have another generation of leaders of Integrity, Courage, and Dedication. Sincerely, Mr. Joseph Kenneally John F.

Sincerely,

Mr. Joseph Kenneally
