Rostro de Cristo

This year, Principal Brian Sinchak and faculty member Jim Boyle took senior high students on a journey to Ecuador as part of the Rostro de Cristo program.  Founded in 1988 by Fr. Jim Ronan of the Archdiocese of Boston, MA, Rostro de Cristo is a Volunteer & Retreat Program of the Catholic Church based in Durán, Ecuador. With its first house in central Durán over 15 years ago, the Rostro de Cristo community is constantly moving to the areas of Durán where the need is greatest. As the community has moved it has also grown, from its first year of only three in-country volunteers, to eleven volunteers in two communities and a growing community of nearly 100 alumni. Currently volunteers are living and working in the communities of Antonio Jose de Sucre & Arbolito, and hosting 25 retreat groups year round from a diverse pool of colleges, universities, and high schools across the country.

Senior Service
In this program the senior student will have the opportunity to put faith into practice. Students will engage in service activities with both children and adults. In addition, concurrent seminar sessions are held to prepare the students for their fieldwork, and for follow-up.

Service Traditions

Our community is proud of the service traditions we maintain.  Each year, faculty and staff participate in Thanksgiving and Easter Basket Drives as well as an overwhelmingly successful Student Senate Christmas Gift drive in conjunction with Trumbull County Children's Services.  The drive is celebrated with our traditional Christmas Tree Lighting and Prayer Service, held each year on the eve of Christmas Break.  Members of our Key Club volunteer at the St. Vincent dePaul Soup Kitchen and our Relay for Life team excels each year raising funds in support of cancer research.
